In a world ruled by might
He chose,
Though greatest of all,
Straw in an ass’ stall.
Piercing the cold darkness,
Radiant,
The promise of hope shown
To those broken, lost and alone.
It seems too simple —
Naïve, in fact —
That to believe and follow
A soul could be hallowed.
Our destiny to tell,
Once afire,
As brilliant stars of light
To shine against the night.
